About MY Work

My Overarching Experience

I worked virtually for the Bay Dolphin Tutoring Center from April 2021 to January 2022. While working there I specialized in reading, writing, and debate oriented classes. However, I am well versed and comfortable in every subject.

My Skillset

I am a very strong speaker and can easily conduct a room of people. I utilize this to make sure that students are learning and remain on task even through a computer. I am organized and make sure to have a folder designated for each class. There I put homework, class materials, and anything else the student and I go over together. I work with precision to ensure that any and all assignments are done correctly and on time.

My Goals

I plan to run successful, efficient, and enjoyable tutoring sessions entirely on my own. I strive to teach students through the lens of passion and confidence, and have them learn to tap in to their own abilities. I work to make sure students feel safe and comfortable in my classes.

What I AM OFFERING

English, History, Mathematics, and Science Tutoring

I have taken various English, history, mathematics, and science AP classes, regular courses, and examinations; I have succeeded in each one. Over the summer I taught an English course every morning 5 or 6 days a week. I feel that I can tutor to the BEST of my abilities up to the 7th-8th grade level in any subject.

Public Speaking and Debate

I am a very active member of the Bronx Science congressional debate team, which also happens to be the #1 team in the nation. I have competed on the local, state, and national levels. I recently fully qualified to compete at the Tournament of Champions and at the State Championship. I have taught more than 15 consecutive public speaking classes through the Bay Dolphin Tutoring Center. I am willing to teach both how to argue and speak generally, and how to argue and speak as a congressional debater specifically.

MY EXPECTATIONS

MY CLASS RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

I believe that a student who is uncomfortable or not feeling their best will also be unable to learn at their best. While I am lenient in what I allow to occur during my classes, there are several things that I will not tolerant under any circumstances.

WHAT I TOLERATE:

Eating and drinking
Taking bathroom breaks
Taking breaks from constant review of material
Stepping away or exiting the class if the student needs to (notify me if able)
Asking questions about any content or material that I am providing
Constructive criticism and critiques

I am here to help your child learn as their best self. If I am doing anything that you feel does not best suit their personal needs I am more than happy to adapt.

WHAT I DO NOT TOLERATE:

Blatant and intentional disrespect with negative intent
Unnecessary interruptions solely for the sake of interrupting class
